Developer Gets CarPlay Up And Running On His Tesla
With Tesla cars featuring huge displays for its infotainment system, it feels like information technology would be perfect for platforms similar Apple'southward CarPlay or Google's Android Auto. However, CarPlay isn't supported past Tesla and we're not sure if in that location are plans to always make it an option for customers, but that did not stop one programmer from trying.
Polish programmer Michał Gapiński decided that instead of waiting to see if Tesla would somewhen add support for CarPlay, he decided to do it himself. What's interesting is that how Gapiński achieved this was by taking a Raspberry Pi running on a custom build of Android, so in a way it's kind of ironic that this workaround actually uses everything except Apple'southward own products or services.

However, information technology should be noted that this isn't the most ideal of setups. This is because the project is nevertheless in the early stages of evolution and so far, one of the main limitations is that he has to use a mouse continued to the Raspberry Pi in order to navigate the CarPlay interface, which kind of defeats the entire purpose of CarPlay to brainstorm with.
The proficient news is that according to Gapiński, there are plans to eventually share his workaround once it is polished.
